Bugmunch is my submission to the 85th Godot Wild Jam, which ran September 12th-21st, 2025. This jam is about developing a game within a limited amount of time within the Godot environment. When the Jam started, I began ideating with my friend, and we landed on the idea for Bugmunch by the end of the night. The game is similar to something like Agar.io, where the player must eat bugs to expand into a larger Kaiju, eventually becoming a full-sized Kaiju to fight an evil Kaiju.
My main contributions to this project involved designing the game and developing all its systems within Godot. I also created a design doc and GitHub to keep ourselves organized and track progress.
Unlike the other jam we did, Hollowpipe, we did not work on this game as much due to business with schoolwork. I'm not as proud of this project as I am of others, but I learned a couple of core lessons from working on this: question your ideas for games thoroughly before committing to them, pace yourself better, and it's better to finish a project than to abandon it.
